Syed Fazl-e-Haider is a development analyst and a freelance columnist in Pakistan. He has served as Assistant Editor in leading English newspapers of Balochistan including “Daily Balochistan Times” and “Daily Balochistan Express”. He has so far contributed hundreds of articles to national and international newspapers and journals including daily Dawn, daily The News” Asia Times Online and Pakistan & Gulf Economist (www.pgeconomist.com). He has also contributed research papers to international research institutes. The area of his expertise include Pakistan economy, Pakistan-China economic ties, Balochistan economy and Gwadar Port.

He is the author of many books including “Economic Development of Balochistan”, which is the first comprehensive and latest book on the economy of Balochistan. The book was published in May 2004 and it has been recommended at Ph.D and post-graduate level in two universities of Balochistan in the syllabi of “Development Economics & Planning”.
